Poland secure progression after final matches in Gdańsk

Poland secured second place in LOTTO EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 Pool A by beating Estonia, while Serbia beat Finland to win the pool on the final day of matches at Ergo Arena.

The schedule for the Playoffs has been confirmed as:

   - Katowice 17:30 ITA vs TUR / 20:30 FRA vs CZE
   - Krakow: 17:30 BUL vs FIN / 20:30 POL vs SLO

Serbia silenced 65,407 fans on a historic night for European Volleyball – as the visitors stole the show from hosts Poland to start their EuroVolley campaign in Pool A with a resounding 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-22, 25-20) to make amends for the heavy loss they had suffered three years ago at PGE National Stadium in Warsaw. The support from a record-breaking crowd was not enough for the Red-and-Whites to deliver a consistent performance – and Poland will have to erase memories from this game when playing Finland and Estonia in Gdansk in their remaining matches in Pool A.

Pomeranian Voivodeship – a place of volleyball youth

Around 600 4th to 6th grade students fought for the title of Volleyball Youth School, during the Fight – Win – Gdańsk campaign, from November 21 till 23. The campaign was inspired by the upcoming 2017 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Men, with Gdańsk as one of the host cities. The school tournament was held in three cities, namely Gdańsk, Lębork and Malbork.

Road to #EuroVolleyM – Venues & dates announced for next big Volleyball party

Warsaw, Poland, October 21, 2016. The Final Round of the 2017 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Men will take place in Poland from August 25 till September 3. The event will be hosted by four cities: Krakow, Gdansk, Katowice and Szczecin. Today their representatives received ‘official’ nominations from the hands of CEV Senior Vice President Renato Arena and Polish Volleyball Federation (PVF) President Jacek Kasprzyk.
